Alliant National promotes compliance officer

People on the Move
Thursday, February 07, 2013
Alliant National Title Insurance Co. announced a key personnel move this week: Kyle Rank has been promoted to chief compliance officer.

In this position, Rank will lead enterprise compliance efforts and implement internal controls, policies and procedures to assure compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as third-party guidelines. He will also manage audits and investigations into regulatory and compliance issues.

Rank joined the company as vice president and Missouri agency manager in April 2010 and has been responsible for developing relationships with Alliant National’s independent agents, as well as the marketing and management of Alliant National’s Missouri agency programs. His duties encompassed development of educational programs for agents and their customers, and licensing, underwriting and expansion into adjacent states.

With two decades of executive legal management experience for several leading national underwriters and agencies, Rank served four years as president and co-owner of a multi-state agency that grew from inception to a $7 million company, and brought expertise in both residential and commercial real estate transactions to Alliant National when he joined the firm in 2010.

“I am looking forward to heading Alliant National’s efforts in the critical arena of regulatory compliance,” Rank said. “During these past few years, the collapse of world financial markets, a severe recession and the passage of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act have all had extensive impacts on our industry. Ultimately, my goal is to help our agents protect consumers during the loan origination process. This is important now in this era of new regulations and multiple compliance mandates.”

Rank has a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Michigan State University, and earned a juris doctorate from Washburn University School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in the state of Kansas and is a licensed title agent in Missouri. His awards include “Claims Counsel of the Year,” by TRW Title, Inc., 1993, and a lifetime membership to Strathmore’s Who’s Who in 2003.

“Kyle Rank is one of Alliant National’s most experienced leaders,” said Dave Ginger, Alliant National President. “His familiarity with the Alliant National business paradigm and his extensive background in agency ownership, underwriting and in advising and solving our agents’ title questions, all combine to make him a highly valuable member of our team.”
