The National Association of Independent Land Title Agents (NAILTA) named David LeClere as its third president. LeClere, an attorney from Baton Rouge, La., succeeds Anthony Affatati.
LeClere has practiced real estate transactional law and civil litigation as well as oil and gas litigation in state and federal courts across Louisiana and various other states for more than 30 years. His practice is now focused on real estate procurement, settlement, litigation and title curative actions.
“Anthony’s dedicated efforts made a significant impact on the title insurance industry, and he will be greatly missed by the members of our association,” LeClere said.
LeClere assumes the presidency during a time of change for the title insurance, real estate and banking industries, as the new TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule goes into effect.
“NAILTA looks forward to further promoting the value of independent title agents and consumer choice of settlement providers,” LeClare said. “Our posture will be to interface with other trade associations within the industry as well as to work with members of Congress on important issues pertinent to the title insurance and settlement services industry.”
