AmTrust Title Insurance Co. has hired attorney Deborah B. Boyd as its Florida state counsel, the company announced.
Based in South Florida, Boyd will focus on business development and creating underwriting solutions for AmTrust Title and its Florida agents. AmTrust said she will represent title agents through leadership positions in industry organizations and work to protect agents in drafting new legislation.
“Florida is one of the three largest markets in the country,” AmTrust Title President Jason Gordon said in a release. “With our commercial capacity allowing AmTrust Title to write policies up to $525 million, our next-generation production software solutions for agents (being released later this year), and now one of the most prestigious, most experienced underwriters in the industry to guide our agents, we should see immediate penetration into this crucial market.”
AmTrust said Boyd has more than 30 years of experience in title insurance, regulatory compliance and service as general counsel for real estate-related companies. Prior to joining AmTrust, Boyd was vice president/senior commercial underwriting counsel for Fidelity National Title Group. She has served as an underwriting counsel for title insurance companies since 2005.
Boyd holds board posts with Florida Land Title Association and the American Land Title Association.
