In April, the Trump administration enacted tariffs against imported Canadian lumber in hopes of leveling the playing field with U.S. lumber producers.
However, the National Association of Home Builders believes those tariffs ultimately will hurt American consumers, especially Gulf Coast residents looking to rebuild following Hurricane Harvey.
