Georgia expanded electronic recording (eRecording) of land documents and records in five additional counties, Chatham, Haralson, Morgan, Pike and Taliaferro, through Simplifile.
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys and lien filers, will have the ability to scan or upload and submit documents directly to the counties and have them stamped, recorded, and returned in minutes.
“We are thrilled to see the eRecording rate of adoption continue to rise not only throughout the state of Georgia, but also across the nation,” Simplifile President Paul Clifford said. “It’s wonderful to see the improvements in workflow and recording turnaround time for counties and their customers, and we are excited to be able to provide this easy-to-use technology for these new counties.”
Fewer payment errors, fewer stamps, and reduced mailing expenses are also some of the benefits that come with eRecording.
Recording fees can be processed electronically through Simplifile’s secure service via Automated Clearing House or electronic funds transfer, eliminating check-writing expenses.
There are now 24 counties in Georgia that have adopted eRecording with Simplifile.
