The City of Stamford implemented electronic recording (eRecording) of documents through Simplifile. Customers ranging from title companies to banks, attorneys and lien filers, have the ability to scan or upload and submit documents directly to the clerk’s office and have them recorded, stamped and returned electronically.
“eRecording brings incredible, cost-saving benefits to the clerk’s office and their customers,” Simplifile President Paul Clifford said. “Driving to the clerk’s office or having to mail documents and wait several days or weeks for them to be recorded are no longer the only options. Simplfile’s online service is easy to use and brings the convenience and expedited turnaround time that recording customers are looking for.”
Customers also have the ability to track and view the status of their documents that have been submitted to the clerk, making it easier and more cost effective to correct and resubmit any rejected documents.
The City of Stamford joins 34 other erecording jurisdictions in Connecticut.
