CoreLogic has provided seed money to support the launch of a new disaster fund designed to support victims of man-made and natural disasters such as Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, the company announced.
CoreLogic said it donated $250,000 to the HOPE Disaster Fund, an operation of the nonprofit Operation HOPE. Through a national call center, the new fund will provide resources such as financial recovery guidance and sustainable support for individuals, families, and small businesses. Operation Hope was founded by John Hope Bryant.
“CoreLogic is proud to help Operation HOPE launch its disaster fund, which will provide life-changing aid to communities affected by disasters, like the current crisis in Houston,” CoreLogic President and CEO Frank Martell said in a release.
“We are committed to John Hope Bryant’s vision of a sustainable household financial empowerment model, making sure when a disaster strikes we are able to help individuals and families recover from such a challenging moment in their lives,” Martell added.
Services provided by Operation Hope include a full range of financial services at no cost, including emergency budgeting and credit counseling; assistance with deferring mortgage payments and communicating with creditors; support obtaining Small Business Administration loans; and help obtaining copies of destroyed financial documents.
“We are grateful to CoreLogic for their continued support and for their generous donation to the HOPE Disaster Fund that will build a foundation through which we can help countless individuals across the country,” Bryant said. “CoreLogic’s leadership and contribution is an important step toward our goal of raising $2 million to help survivors recover with dignity.”
