Fairfax County, Va.’s most populated county, is now accepting electronic documents for recording through Simplifile.
eRecording is the method of submitting, receiving and processing documents such as land records for recording online, which have been traditionally submitted by mail, runner or courier service.
“This is a huge win for Fairfax. Our new eRecording partner, Simplifile, expands the opportunities for people throughout the country to do business with the Fairfax Circuit Court Clerk’s Office,” said John T. Frey, Fairfax Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers such as title companies, banks and legal offices can electronically prepare or scan and upload documents and send them securely through Simplifile directly to the clerk’s office for recording in minutes.
Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, eliminating check-writing expenses and reducing payment errors.
“We’re thrilled to be providing eRecording in Fairfax County and know many customers are equally excited to have this option available,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “eRecording is the most convenient, cost-effective way to have documents recorded. It’s secure, it’s green, and it streamlines the overall recording process for all parties involved.”
