Jane Barkley has joined Investors Title as a senior commercial title attorney. Based in Charlotte, Barkley will underwrite title risk and coordinate title searches, escrow and disbursement services for commercial transactions. She will also support the growth of commercial services offered through the company’s branch and agent network.

Barkley has been a practicing North Carolina attorney for more than 30 years and has served as underwriting counsel for two national title insurance underwriters before joining Investors Title. She has also served as the assistant city attorney for the City of Charlotte; as partner at Barkley and Barkley, Attorneys at Law and as the legal counsel, hearing officer, and assistant clerk of court for Mecklenburg County. Barkley, with extensive knowledge of North Carolina residential and commercial real estate law, is a frequent presenter at continuing legal education programs for the North Carolina Bar Association and the National Business Institute.
She is a member of numerous associations including the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Land Title Association, Western District of North Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a former board member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and is a recipient of a CREW Networking Award, which recognizes the recipient’s influence on the success of women in the commercial real estate industry. She is also a former board member of the Real Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina, an organization which engages in research, educational activities and promotional campaigns regarding consumer protection abuses and practices.
Barkley earned her bachelor’s degree from Guilford College and her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
