Knight Barry Title, a Wisconsin-based title agency, appointed Michael Rubin as director of corporate development.
The company has more than doubled its size since the real estate economy headed south in 2007. The rapid growth created a greater need at the top of the corporate ladder. Rubin will be responsible for working with the branch office network, organizing and training the sales force, locating future growth opportunities for the company, and assisting the CEO and chief operating officer with company operations.
Rubin has been in the title insurance industry since 1997. Beginning as a title searcher, he has been employed at every level of the industry, working his way up through several management and executive positions to finally owning his own agency. After selling his title agency in 2013, he became state agency manager for Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin for North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC).
He currently lives in the greater Chicago metropolitan area and is married with two small children. He enjoys playing golf and traveling to sporting events. During college football bowl season he attends a less-than-prestigious bowl game in a city he may never have visited to watch a team he may not be familiar with, but somehow he said he always has a great time.
“When I found out about his goofy bowl game shenanigans, his stock rose and I had to have him on our team,” Chief Operating Officer Craig Haskins said. “Title insurance, believe it or not, is not the sexiest industry. So when I find people who enjoy title and closings and they also make something that’s rather lame into something that’s rather fun, I know they’ll fit in well with our company.”
Knight Barry has 225 title professionals in 30 offices in four Midwest states.
