North American Title Group added Christy Tabor as its new associate regulatory counsel. Tabor has more than 12 years of legal experience supporting both title insurance agency and underwriter operations that are national in scope.
“Christy will be working with me in the corporate legal department,” North American Title Group General Counsel Jeff Howeth said. “She will provide some much-needed support and expertise as we continue to grapple with the ever-increasing legal and regulatory compliance challenges facing our industry at the national and state levels.
“Her initial areas of focus will be helping us to complete our ALTA Best Practices documentation and obtain independent certification,” Howeth added. “She will also provide legal support for our TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure forms and processes initiatives. Ultimately, she will provide additional support on various corporate legal and regulatory matters.”
Tabor comes to North American Title Group from Centex Title & Ancillary Services LLC (Centex), a wholly owned subsidiary of PulteGroup Inc. Centex is responsible for the title insurance operations of that publicly traded homebuilder. Most recently, she served as vice president and associate regulatory counsel of Centex, and previously as the company’s associate regulatory counsel and director of underwriter operations.
A graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in English, summa cum laude, and a master’s in education, Tabor earned her juris doctor from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
